Nicole Uche Gladzinski

Nicole (b.1994) is a German visual artist based in Lisbon, with roots in the Canary Islands. After years of working as a freelance graphic designer, she felt an increasing need to move beyond structure and client-driven work toward something more immediate, raw, and self-directed.

Working primarily through abstraction, she relies on an intuitive visual language that emerges in the present moment with each brushstroke. Letting go of control is central to her work; painting becomes a way to access the unconscious and reveal a more honest, unfiltered version of herself.

At the core of Nicole’s practice is the concept of becoming—not as a destination, but as a continuous state of being. Her work reflects processes of transformation, fragmentation, and reformation, holding space for both vulnerability and resilience.

Ultimately, Nicole’s paintings are not about fixed meanings or final images, but about presence. Each piece becomes a record of attention and emotional movement, a negotiation between control and surrender, structure and dissolution. Through this ongoing process, she invites viewers to sit with uncertainty, to feel rather than define, and to witness the quiet, complex act of becoming.
